Default Abandoned Buildings in Seoul

Most of my hobbies these days combine well with photography, but I've been most active lately in urban exploration. For those of you who don't know, that means finding abandoned, condemned, or off-limits buildings or other structures and getting inside. There's quite a bit to find in Seoul, so here's some of what I've done.

Inside a music hakwon.

This church is the only building still standing in one neighbourhood. It'll have to come down soon.

Here's a farther back view of it.

Inside an abandoned school.

Condemned restaurant.

She had a pebble in her shoe.

Man - me, Dan/Vlad/Jim and Buddy Bradley spent what felt like hours exploring an abandoned maze of virtual underground dungeons below the Pyeongtaek red light district on New Years....just using our cell phones for light.
That shit was fucking creepy. Expecting to uncover all kinds of dead bodies or ghosts. It just kept going and going. Really bizarre stuff.
Good pics by the way.

Thanks. I don't have a tripod so I balanced it on my camera bag.

I'd be curious about this underground maze in Pyungtaek.

You don't have any desire to check out things you see that might be different or interesting?

Didn't you go to India? ('why' shouldn't be in your vocabulary when it comes to weird shit fella.)

I'm still not going to let you toss my salad though, so keep your desires (and PMs) to yourself, luv.

I'll try and do a recon mission again and see if it still exists or if it got trashed.

Pretty grungy part of town though, I doubt they've fully demolished it to make way for condos or a kindergarten or something....but then again, it's Korea, so who knows?

Urban exploration is a pretty interesting subject... I particularly like this guy's website and the pictures of abandoned places he's visited: http://www.urban-travel.org/

His travel shots are absolutely superb.

All utter nonsense.

1. Produce some PMs. (That's pretty old by now. Excelsior.)
2. I am a huge supporter of exploring the new and extraordinary (what you quaintly refer to as "weird shit") and I have been many places, not only India.
3. The above differs greatly from being inspired to crawl into a hole in the Earth, drunk, with the people you mentioned. I want to hear why you did it, and just how lucky you got.

Your story. Elaborate. In fact, in deference to the OP, post pictures. Shock and awe.

Never happened. Prove it. Post scanned pages of your passport, including your full name, address and telephone number - otherwise it's a lie.

Exploration. The same reason you went to India. To meet people, learn things and open your mind to new experiences. The two are identical.

Nope...Secret.....that would betray confidences. If Vlad wants to bare his soul about a monumental night he can. Let's just say it's things you couldn't imagine in your wildest dreams. India doesn't prepare a man for a life altering event like this. And photos sure would never do it justice.

And that's all I wanted.

Can't wait to see what I wrote in the PMs though. Remember, I am very much a devotee of Orwell and Twain and The Elements of Style is my Qu'ran, so don't make a mess of it. Make us believe.

Also: you'll need DNA samples to prove they're mine.

At least it explains why you quoted "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!", though.

Interesting, the places your mind goes without prompting. Is Shania Twain even still alive?

I'd like to know if any of you have ever come across any abandoned sites such as the ones in the pictures.

The easiest way to spot them is that all windows and often doors are smashed out, leaving empty holes. You'll also see 철거 written across anything slated for demolition.

There seem to be a lot of abandoned places in Seoul.

I've got a high profile update. Dongdaemoon Baseball Stadium.

She refused to sit still.

The way out.

Just around the corner outside, we saw this tent with people playing chess inside. This is a protest of the demolition of the stadium. Chances are these people run the businesses on the street facade of the stadium.
