Thing is, I really think my wife's idea about buying from G-Market or some other Korean site just means we're going to get screwed on the price of the item AND the delivery. Is there a way to buy it from an American online shopping site...buy it from the States and just have it delivered from there? Also, can anyone suggest a good brand for a Belgian waffle maker? I wouldn't know a good one from a bad one, but apparently the one my brother got as a wedding gift doesn't work worth a shit. __________________ Duane: See Tim, that's the difference between you and I. | Biscuits_Alive! knows where you live. | In answer to the first question, yes, it's easy. Well, kind of - it's easy once you've found a site that will deliver internationally and will accept whatever card you have. I ordered some stuff for my fiancee two weeks ago and it arrived Tuesday. I had to pay $15 dollars for delivery, mind you. A waffle iron will definitely set you back on that count. You know, G-Market isn't necessarily a bad place to buy kitchen appliances. I got a food processor a few months ago that was very reasonably priced and delivered almost immediately. Compare prices with US sites - it may well be that once you factor in delivery, you may as well be shopping with G-Market. |

| rawley Internet Toughguy | check myus.com, they're a place that will help ship orders overseas that aren't allowed (like electronics) it may be worth it, it may not. Another point to remember is time, can an overseas order make it in time? Plus, if you buy an American (or Canadian) waffle iron, you need to buy (or make sure he has) a transformer, otherwise it'll be a lousy present if he can't use it. __________________ To clarify, by gay I meant "Will and Grace gay", that is, dumb-as-a-bag-of-dildos and gay, not "John Waters gay" (fucking awesome and gay) or "Ellen Degeneres gay" (gay and bland). |

| Draz RANGRANGRANG | I'm pretty sure his brother is in America guys. This is how I dealt with Christmas this year, I can say that I had absolutely no problem using my Canadian credit card on Amazon.ca to send packages to the address on my credit card. I don't know about using a Korean credit card on Amazon.com or anything. What brand does he have now? |

I don't see what's so difficult - you can use your Korean credit card on an American site and get it sent straight to him. Job done. (Assuming, that is, that you have a Korean credit card. If you do, then your luck is in. If you don't, then your luck is out.) | |

| Draz RANGRANGRANG | I ordered stuff off a different website, and South Korea, Korea, and Republic of Korea, were all missing from its list of approved countries' credit cards. Using a Korean card is not something to take for granted. Definitely check whatever website you use first. |

| Biscuits_Alive! knows where you live. | Now, in theory, if they accept Visa / Mastercard then they should accept them from any country that issues them. That's part of the raison d'etre of Visa and Mastercard. Merchants can't discriminate against issuing banks because Visa International (or Mastercard) have effectively pre-approved and guaranteed any transaction that is made, so if a site genuinely is refusing to accept Visa cards issued in Korea then you should make a complaint to your issuing bank who in turn should make a complaint to Visa International. Merchants can however refuse to ship to certain countries, but if the waffle iron is being sent to somewhere within the US from within the US then it shouldn't be a problem at all. |
