    Default Nonghyup Internet Banking

Gee, we can't have the computer doing extra work over a holiday.

We're sorry but due to holiday/weekend system operations, you can only make an inquiry on today's non-passbook transactions. You have no transactions.

I will check into internet banking today...I have an account an Nonghyup.

The thing that pisses me off about them is that if you use the ATM when the bank is closed it costs 500 won. Why? Why is it more expensive to use the machine when the bank's doors are closed.

    Such a ridiculous charge.

They can sign you up very quickly. It's great. Can't believe I waited a year to do it.

Yeah... I've been using internet banking for years. First KB* (was Kookmin Bank then), then KEB, then Nonghyup and Woori. Now Nonghyup, Woori and SC Jeil.

I signed up today. Naturally all of the sign up material is in Korean. Luckily my 'personal banker' is the only one in the place who can speak English. He talked me through the form, explained my secret number card and then we sat down to go through the paces...and the website was down.

    Not an auspicious start.

Yeah, the sign up form is in Korean, but the website has a totally English option. When you go online and click on 'English' you can sign up there. Just need your user ID, ARC card, the special one-time-use number they give you at the bank. You create your own
'transfer password' which is just your account password.
Then enter 2 of the pins off the secret PIN card...and copy the certificate to your computer (and a memory stick too, if you want to use it on different computers). You'll have to accept some downloads as well.
